Send Santa a letter

For grown-ups

Privacy & Parents

The short version: kids need a grown-up to send anything, letters go only to that grown-up, and we keep as little as possible for as short a time as possible.

Last updated [DATE] · Operated by South Creek Community Organization

What we collect

Only what’s needed to deliver a letter: an optional nickname, the letter (written, spoken, or uploaded), the wish ideas chosen, and the grown-up’s email.

  • We never ask for a child’s surname, birthday, home address, school, or email.
  • Nothing is collected until a grown-up starts the letter.
  • No marketing lists. Sending a letter never subscribes you to anything.

Where letters go

A copy of the letter and its wish-idea links goes to the verified grown-up’s email — not to the child, and never to a public page or gallery. The committee sees only an anonymous count of letters sent.

Recordings & drawings

The microphone and file picker only open after a grown-up taps to start, and your browser asks permission first. Recordings and uploads are stored privately with restricted access, never as public files. There’s no automatic transcription.

How long we keep things

Letter content and attachments are deleted after [DELETION PERIOD], for the purpose of [DOCUMENTED PURPOSE].

Your choices

You can ask to see or delete anything connected to your child’s letter at any time. Email events@southcreekcommunity.org or use the delete link in your copy of the letter.

Your browser

The sleigh remembers only which wish ideas were picked (simple ID numbers), and only until the tab is closed. Letters, names, voices, photos and emails are never saved in your browser.

Track Santa

Watching never asks for your location. When live tracking launches, only the event vehicle appears, only during the event, and publishing stops when the drive ends.

Gallery photos

Photos are published only with the committee’s approval and appropriate permission. To remove one, send a photo request.

Accessibility

We want every neighbor to be able to plan Christmas Eve and every kid to be able to write to Santa.

  • Keyboard-friendly controls with visible focus, and real labels on every form field.
  • All route and schedule details are available as text, not only on the map.
  • Gentle, optional motion that switches off with your device’s reduced-motion setting. No autoplay sound or flashing lights.
  • Text contrast checked against WCAG 2.2 AA.
